MIDNITE CITY Go Slightly Heavier With Upcoming Single

In a few short years, Midnite City have managed to find themselves atop the current resurgence of glam related hair metal, a feat extraordinary given the depth of emerging talent in that genre.

Their second album There Goes The Neighborhood was voted fifth best Melodic Rock Album of the year in Classic Rock magazine and a whirlwind and highly successful tour of Australia early last year cemented their reputation in this country.

HEAVY REGULAR: “12 Rounds With JOHNNY BOXER” a.k.a BOBO #10

After letting Johnny oil the chainsaw over the festive break HEAVY decided it was time to get him back to his proper job and answer questions for our readers!

CLAY J GLADSTONE Refuse To Apologise

Loosely classified as emo/punk, Sydney rockers Clay J Gladstone presented their latest single “Sorry” to the world earlier this week via HEAVY in a move that I have to admit made me question the sanity of the band. Not that there’s anything wrong with the track – it’s actually a belter – but how it would be accepted by our readership was potentially another subject entirely.

Within 30 seconds of taking the call with vocalist Clay I realised that the possibility of rejection wasn’t so much a threat as a challenge, but “Sorry” defied the metal gods and was universally applauded by a public that can also be fickle and unforgiving.

The metal family is never stronger than when one of our own is in need.

Especially when that person is as likable, loveable, and downright talented as Massic vocalist Simon Russell-White.

In December Simon collapsed while running with an exploded aorta that required immediate and highly risky open-heart surgery. The initial prognosis was grim but after 8 hours of open-heart surgery Simon defied medical opinion and thankfully pulled through.
